Judo


Philosophy

The purpose of Judo is to promote well-being and to allow a better use of energy that exists within the individual. Rituals of respect are employed in combat and training.

Judo is the first martial art who adopted Budo, with the goal to improve the character of the practitioner through training.

Judo is based on three principles:

  • Seiryoku-Zen-Yo  –  maximum efficiency with minimum effort.
    Only through order and harmony between mind and body this efficiency can be achieved.

  • Jita-Kyoei  –  welfare and mutual benefit.
    Stresses the importance of human solidarity.

  • Ju  –  suavity.
    Allows better use of force with emphasis on technique.
